THE MAN WITH THE WINGS OF FIRE.....
On the evening of 27th, July 2015 all the eyes were glued to the news channels, all hands were held in prayer, the caste the religion the community or even the age difference nothing held them apart, each one of them just wished for the moment to pass by and their leader to be safe and healthy.
But alas it was time for us to bid farewell to one of the greatest souls of the era, to 'The missile man".
As soon as the news of Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam's death hit everyone the social media were flooded with condolence messages, what was different this time was the messages were not simple RIP messages but majority of them had some memory to share, a story to tell. It was so amazing to see so many of them had photographs clicked with him. All this well explained his popularity and the title he had earned for himself "The People's President."
While going through all the posts I was glad about the piece of luck I was bestowed with. I remembered how dumb folded I had turned when I heard “God bless you my child, never stop dreaming.” As a kid I had always adored him and would proudly quote him in each and every speech or essay I wrote in my school, I would track all the programs he attended and would download and listen to the speech and lecture he gave in each of the events and I also remember having a collection of all the interviews and articles of him and about him printed in the newspapers. I had a strong desire to listen to him live and when I came to know he was coming to the university where my sister studied I knew I was not going to miss the opportunity, I put in a lot of effort to get into the campus and after the speech I was about to get a photograph clicked with him when my camera ditched me and went to the standby mode while I struggled to fix the camera I did not notice that Sir had noticed me and walked through the crowd towards me shook hands with me blessed me and left towards his car, and all I could do was stand still stare and absorb the shock.
Dr Kalam has been and will always be an inspiration to people around the world. He
Born in the family of a boatman, he had spent most of his childhood financial trouble, working hard since very young age to make the ends meet he led a life of a common man. The journey from a common man to the 11th president of India is a journey of sincerity dedication and hard work. Free of political affiliation who always played by the rules he was a genuine person full of the joy and adventure, whose messages were so attractive to the young because they were so simple and straightforward.
He said,
“Great dreams of great dreamers always come true.”
As a kid he dream of becoming a pilot, he was rejected but the dream came true when at the age of 74, he flew the Sukhoi.
The he passed away while at a college function is perhaps the way he would have liked to go, but it was too quick, too soon.
The man with curly silver hair, the sparkling eyes and the infectious smile, through his thoughts, words and deeds he is always going to remain alive among us for years to come .The man with the wings of fire will keep igniting millions of mind of the future generations .
